JNI 688 - Three encouraging prayer initiatives in Europe and the USA: (1) 24-7 Prayer is mobilising Christians to pray for Europe in the wake of the scandals hitting the financial and political sectors, and the European elections. (2) More than 1,700 churches representing nearly a million believers kicked off the second annual One Prayer movement, hoping to accomplish more of God's work together than on their own. (3) 24-7prayer launched a new initiative called Campus America, which aims to mobilize non-stop prayer on all 2,614 university, college and seminary campuses in America in 2010.

We look at 10 foundational principles for 'kingdom business', and tell the story of Abishek Gier, who is living proof that the gospel of the Kingdom is 'good news to the poor'. He is a creative businessman using his gifts to put people in the slums of Delhi to work and to touch their lives in every way.

JNI 685 - The Joshua Project reports that of the 16,304 people groups, 6,652 (totalling over 2 billion people) are still considered unreached, of which 5,209 (78%) are in 10/40 Window countries, and about 3,460 (52%) are small groups under 10,000 in population. Also in this edition: thousands of prayer rooms are springing up in Europe, and Kenyan PM Odinga baptised.

JNI 684 - The Czech Republic, a nation in the heart of Europe that currently presides the Council of the European Union, is writing history. On 9 April 2009, after more than 15 years of hard work, a new translation of the Bible in modern-day Czech was released, and unexpectedly sold out completely within a month. After a first print of 50,000 copies, a second order of 50,000 copies is under way from a printer in the Netherlands. "Realizing that the Czech Republic is the most secularized nation in Europe, this is really amazing," says lead translator of the project Alexandr Flek.
